How it began
Mary and Liam were introduced over text by a mutual friend after they both moved from their respective cities (New York and Chicago) to the Colorado mountains in the summer of 2020. An expired driver’s license brought Liam from Breckenridge to Steamboat, where he and Mary first had lunch together. They instantly clicked and left with plans to ski together. After several weekends of Liam casually sneaking his arm around Mary on the chairlift, they started dating. Four years later, we are ready to make it official!
And the rest is history
Liam proposed to Mary during a weekend trip to one of their favorite ski destinations, Aspen, Colorado. Liam took Mary on a morning walk with their dog Dottie that ended with coffee at the Hotel Jerome. Without tipping her off, he managed to get her up to the fourth floor of the hotel, where flowers and an intimate proposal on a balcony overlooking downtown Aspen awaited them. Meanwhile, Liam’s cousins Matt and Kersten were hiding nearby, and Kersten, a professional photographer, captured amazing photos of the moment. The day was made complete with a surprise brunch at the Bear Den with Mary’s sister Charlotte and friends, an afternoon skiing Aspen Mountain, and a champagne-filled dinner at Catch Steak. It ranks as one of Mary’s all-time favorite, best, happiest days ever, and it’s in the top five for Liam (there were a lot of really good powder days in ‘23).
